Ron Perry serves as Counsellor, Psychotherapist, Group Facilitator and Family Therapist as well as a Counselling Psychologist. He has been in these fields for over 30 years and has held various leadership positions related to these areas.
Ron was the original Director of the Institute of Counselling in Sydney and served in that role for over 30 years. .
Ron taught at the Family Therapy Institute of Australia for many years until that program closed.
Ron has also served as a Group Facilitator in diverse situations including training programs and in small and large group contexts.
Ron has also been involved in movements for the recognition of Counselling and Psychotherapy and was a significant contributor to the foundation of PACFA (the Psychotherapy & Counselling Federation of Australia) and served for many years as its Vice-President and then as its second President. In 2005 he was awarded an OAM for "services to counselling and as one of the founders of PACFA".
